This article aims to highlight key insights about the consumer society and contrast the Church’s role, as God’s people, the front of the problems, generated by this society, against the poor people. In order to develop this matter, we conducted a literature search. Among the conclusions, emerge that the consumer society with its multiple facets makes people increasingly individualistic and unconcerned with the welfare of others and of our common home. Although much things have already been done to change our reality, we still need to reflect and walk a lot.
