Sebastião Salgado: a photography and multiple possibilities of interpretation

Abstract

The article brings the photographic image as its theme, thus unfolding the objective of carrying out the interpretative reading of a photograph produced by Sebastião Salgado and published in the book Outras Américas in 1999. Qualitative, interpretative and bibliographic, the study is completed through the Singular Transtextual Reading of Images proposed by Ormezzano (2009a) for the understanding of visual data. It was verified how the image materialized through the photographic language brings with it an implicit symbolic load that can acquire different readings according to the lived experiences, either by the photographer or by the interpreter, undergoing a process of construction in the different areas of the your route.
