Memory and algorithm: notes on identity and collective awareness maintenance in cyberspace

Considering memory and identity modulations inserted in the technological advances of information and communication, the recent social media massification and informational networks specialization are noted in this article, suggesting series of transformations in the modes of virtual sociability. Under the action of algorithmic content filters – enabling a customizable interface for users – the cyberspace perimeter sets efficient and inviting ways for maintaining identity, allocated in fertile environments for the conformation of collective memories.  ÂDownloads
