Abstract

The objective of this study was to map fundraising in public postgraduate programs in Business Administration. The research developed by the Stricto Sensu postgraduate programs is fundamental for the scientific and technological development of Brazil. However, their maintenance and expansion depend on the resources passed on by the federal government, which has suppressed some of these resources, making their maintenance and pursuit of quality a great challenge for program managers. It was possible to identify and analyze how the managers enable the maintenance of the programs, through the survey of fundraising practices in Stricto Sensu Public Administration. To this end, a qualitative study was conducted through interviews with the program managers with CAPES 5, 6 and 7 evaluation scores in the year 2017. The results demonstrated the constant need for the search for resources, especially in the private sector, based on partnerships established through research chairs and improving legislation as a way of facilitating fundraising.
