Education and full-time health: a collective building in school

Abstract

The new role of the school-educational times that the institutions experience, named as full-time schools, help families enabling an extended period of service with new educational opportunities of learning for the student. In this perspective, the author will report the experience as coordinator of a private full-time school in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre - RS, in the period from 2012 to 2014, with approximately 290 students in the age range of 03 to 12 years of age. The need of the school to insert healthy practices arose through reflections for the creation of an area of education ruled in a humanized practice providing actions that develop the physical, mental and social well-being. The interventions were organized by the team of full-time school, which aimed to the creation of prevention and health promotion of the school, being developed by age group, respecting the maturational level. The results provided a collective construction from the knowledge of the students about the health theme, starting from the dialogue, visual and audio display of practical and playful activities, creating and building a broad and meaningful concept. The health project in full-time school provided the construction of an artistic event which is presented yearly by the students that enables awareness of the importance of the union of education and health in school.
