Comic books flirt with reality and offer parameters for the achievement of new information and knowledge. Through theoretical review and studies on communication and culture, it´s focused on the assumption that this kind of reading allows critical social growth and represents an important tool for reading encouragement. Also, there are Joseph Campbell´s studies on myth and the hero´s journey, in which the reader goes through a process of self-knowledge, where each individual faces challenges, in order to acquire higher moral values.
