Abstract

Captain America was created in 1941 by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. However, Stan Lee plays a key role for the relevance and permanence of the character. The article seeks to expose Stan Lee’s contributions to Captain America’s legacy, articulating them with elements of his biography and history of the United States.

É doutor em História pela PUC-SP. Durante o doutorado, com bolsa do Programa de Doutorado Sanduíche no Exterior (PDSE) da CAPES, foi fellow do Center for Latin American and Latino Studies (CLALS) da American University em Washington, D.C.. Pesquisador do Núcleo de Estudos de Política, História e Cultura (POLITHICULT), redator da revista Cadus e do coletivo Quadrinheiros.
