In order to achieve the goal of this work, which is the convergence of the three main pillars: Entrepreneurship, Sustainability and Social Capital in Education, this article presents a theoretical analysis on sustainability in the most diverse segments of civil society, business and government. To carry out this thematic review, it was defined as the subject of the research and consequently key words: entrepreneurship; local development; sustainability. The search period was between December 2014 and February 2015. The search sites were: http://www.teses.usp.br; http://www.periodicos.capes.gov.br; http://www.scielo.br; http://scholar.google.com.br; http://ciencia.science.gov; http://www.sciencedirect.com; http://bdtd.ibict.br; http://eric.ed.gov/. As a result, it was observed that not only new patterns of production and distribution of goods and services and the use of natural resources should be sought, but also the people’s consumption patterns need to be rethought. Not only the efforts of the organizations that develop and offer their social products and services, but also a firm positioning of the public power. Supporting, training, monitoring and financing the current and future generation of social and private entrepreneurs is crucial to increase the stock of local social capital. It can be concluded that civil participation in the creation and conduction of social projects or enterprises is a fundamental element in the generation of social capital that only materializes in the existence of human capital or, ultimately, with the participation of private and social entrepreneurs. From this perspective, Entrepreneurial Education can make a great contribution to the construction of an economically viable, environmentally correct and socially just society.
