O livro do desassossego constitui obra privilegiada para a análise das contradições da modernidade. A inovação contida na forma fragmentária desta prosa poética incorpora com freqüência em seu interior momentos nos quais se evidencia uma visão de mundo passadista e impregnada de um misticismo de teor romântico. Traços modernos e antimodernos convivem neste livro indefinível cuja análise pretende iluminar muitas das ambigüidades da vida moderna que Fernando Pessoa pretendeu recriar em sua poesia.

Abstract: O livro do desassossego, written by Fernando Pessoa, lend itself beautifully to analyse contradictions of modernity. Its innovate and broken form reveals outdated views on the wrold which are full of romantic misticism. Modern and antimodern elemetns coexist in Pessoa’s book. This work analyses many ambigüities of modern life the author criated in his writting.
