Uma análise sobre a constituição do Serviço de Educação do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi (Belém-Pará)

This article aims to analyze and reflect on the initial years of the Education Service of the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi. Through qualitative methodology, we conducted documentary analysis of reports on educational activities and other documents, as well as semi-structured and structured interviews with some members of the educational team. We found that institutional changes in the early years, along with support from national and regional institutions, were crucial for the emergence and consolidation of the Museology Division and the Education and Cultural Extension Division. Additionally, we understand that the educational actions developed during the studied period were shaped by the personal projects of educators in harmony with institutional needs to reach new audiences and/or alleviate conflicts created by the institution itself.
