Iluminogravuras: Analysis of Movement Armorial from the Approach to Theory of Imaginary Sensitive Gilbert Durand

The present work has the objective of analyzing the illumination of Ariano Suassuna, considering the sensitive dimension of the imaginary. For this, the research presents some theoretical elements about the Armorial Movement, aspects related to the imaginary and its main theorists and, finally, using Gilbert Durand’s methodology, the understanding about the meaning of the recurrent symbols in the analyzed images is conceived, especially regarding the meanings of the images approached and their representation in the collective imaginary. Finally, this study contributes to the understanding of the symbolic dimension of the Movement, highlighting its artistic potential, highlighting the importance of the representation of Brazilian culture through the historical and cultural movements that portray its popular dimension.
