Abstract

The present work has the objective of analyzing the illumination of Ariano Suassuna, considering the sensitive dimension of the imaginary. For this, the research presents some theoretical elements about the Armorial Movement, aspects related to the imaginary and its main theorists and, finally, using Gilbert Durand’s methodology, the understanding about the meaning of the recurrent symbols in the analyzed images is conceived, especially regarding the meanings of the images approached and their representation in the collective imaginary. Finally, this study contributes to the understanding of the symbolic dimension of the Movement, highlighting its artistic potential, highlighting the importance of the representation of Brazilian culture through the historical and cultural movements that portray its popular dimension.

Larissa Fernanda de Barros Mota, Universidade Federal de Pernambuco

Mestrado em Design pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (2017). Graduação em Design pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (2014). Professora do Centro Universitário Maurício de Nassau. Pesquisa as relações entre a Cultura e o Imaginário sob a abordagem antropológica da imagem e a análise teórica e prática da construção imagética na sociedade. Tem experiência na área de Desenho Industrial, com ênfase em Design Gráfico, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Análise da imagem, design de superfície e estamparia têxtil.
