From the development of the State of the Question-EQ, we analyze in this study the place that the research has occupied in the teacher training, especially when the debate turns to the teacher reflexive movements / professor researcher. In addition to unveiling the main theories surrounding the studies focused on these themes, we aimed to explore the tensions that arise from them, both for the training of teachers of higher education as for those of basic education, including in this debate the initiation to teaching. The methodology used contemplated a qualitative research of the bibliographic type, which provided us with the appropriate theoretical framework for the development of this discussion. The source of the searches was the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD). This choice was due to the extent of dissemination of the scientific knowledge produced in several areas by this vehicle. Our consultation relied on theses and dissertations published on this basis, with a temporal cut between 2008 and 2013. This was related to the various actions and different investments made by the Board of Basic Education at the time, to the appreciation of the teaching profession and the training of teachers. We understand that this analysis brings to the researchers and other interested in the area of teacher training indications on the direction that this subject has taken in terms of theoretical propositions and empirical findings, mainly in the categories: research and reflection. We conclude that the studies carried out with the EQ were of great value for us to know the product of our research formalized in these main themes that we debate, as well as to confront our own elaboration course with that of other researchers, which, in our opinion, contributes with the exercise of training in research.
