Capoeira and Education: by movement, by narratives and by experience

This article discusses issues around educational and inclusive potential of intangible cultural heritage, especially in the capoeira and academic communities. It aims to stress colonizing, hierarchical, exclusionary and Eurocentric epistemic references. This article aims to discuss meanings and knowledges which have been mobilized in the relations between body, thought and language, related to ways in which educational processes are carried out in the capoeira practices. Methodologically, part of a training course based on reflections and conversation wheels from films and triggers, offered to general educators and capoeiristas. The data point to the possibilities of favoring exchanges, dialogues and promoting displacements from mutual learning between distinct cultures, academic and non-academic.
