Physical Education in the Final Years of Elementary School: Challenges, Experiences, and Possibilities for Teaching School Struggles

This experience report starts from Physical Education classes with two classes of the 6th grade of Elementary School in a school located in Duque de Caxias, Rio de Janeiro. It aimed to understand from the didactic strategies organized by the class teacher how the opposition games can contribute to the development of an introductory proposal for the teaching of fights. Participant observation with Gil (2002) and images were used as record. It was understood that the opposition games were tools of the process of knowledge, approach and proposal of the theme fight in the context of the sixth grade classes. As a result, playfulness, attitudes and values worked out stood out in the students’ verbalization, reflections in the conversation wheels and seminar groups, as well as strategies based on the dynamics and rules of the games that allowed the introduction of elements and movements of diverse struggles.
