Abstract

Abstract: The protection of children and youth in Brazil has been debated for many years, culminating in the paradigm shift from the irregular situation to the doctrine of comprehensive protection, with the advent of the Child and Adolescent Statute - ECA. In this perspective, in addition to the accountability and disapproval of the adolescent’s infraction, the socio-educational measures are configured as one of the guarantees for the protection of these subjects, present in the ECA and, subsequently, in the legislation relevant to Socio-education. This study aims to analyze the conceptions and perspectives that adolescents in compliance with socio-educational measures of hospitalization at the CENSE of Santo Antônio da Platina, in the State of Paraná, have on education. The research is of a qualitative nature and was carried out from literature review, documentary, and field research, and the collection of empirical data was undertaken through semi-structured interviews. The research subjects were nine adolescents admitted to CENSE. It was considered that the particularities in schooling and in the conceptions about Education that adolescents deprived of their freedom, from their school trajectories, directly affect both the socio-educational process and their life projects. Above all, we tried to think of ways to make socio-educational assistance more effective, especially about Education, starting from the main subjects of this process, adolescents.
