DISPARIDADE RURAL-URBANA NOS RESULTADOS ACADÊMICOS DOS ALUNOS EM MATEMÁTICA EM BTR, ASSAM, NO SÉCULO XXI

Devido ao seu valor prático em tarefas e transações rotineiras, a matemática é considerada uma disciplina de extrema importância na vida das pessoas. Neste estudo, o investigador utilizou um modelo de investigação quantitativa não experimental, centrado num modelo de inquérito. O principal objetivo do inquérito é investigar a localização da escola para indicar a previsão rural-urbana relativamente ao desempenho acadêmico em Matemática das escolas do ensino secundário na Região Territorial de Bodoland (BTR) do Estado de Assam, na Índia. A população total do estudo era constituída por quatro mil e vinte e oito (4028) alunos do 10.º ano e dois mil seiscentos e trinta e três (2633) alunos do 12.º ano, selecionados a partir de uma amostra de escolas secundárias de BTR em Assam. Foram desenvolvidas e testadas hipóteses de investigação. Os dados foram analisados recorrendo a técnicas estatísticas como a estatística descritiva e o teste t para determinar a natureza da realização. Os resultados revelaram que existe uma diferença média substancial no desempenho acadêmico em matemática entre rapazes e raparigas, estudantes de escolas rurais e urbanas, rapazes de escolas rurais e rapazes de escolas urbanas, e raparigas de escolas rurais e raparigas de escolas urbanas, tanto no décimo ano como no décimo segundo ano.
