DEPENDÊNCIA DE INTERNET E AUTOESTIMA
INFLUÊNCIAS E IMPLICAÇÕES NA SAÚDE MENTAL DO ESTUDANTE UNIVERSITÁRIO

O ambiente universitário traz diversos desafios aos jovens estudantes e influencia diretamente nas vulnerabilidades que afetam sua saúde mental. Durante esse período os estudantes também acessam muito a internet para estudos e trabalho, assim como para lazer, aumentado o risco para dependência de internet. Sob referencial teórico, é possível identificar a autoestima como um fator ligado ao uso abusivo de internet. Esta pesquisa teve por objetivo analisar a relação entre autoestima e dependência da internet de estudantes universitários. Trata-se de um estudo transversal, com caráter quantitativo em uma amostra de 378 estudantes universitários de ensino superior em Centro Universitário de São Paulo. Os instrumentos utilizados foram: questionário sociodemográfico, IATT – Internet Addiction Teste e Escala de Autoestima de Rosemberg. As análises foram realizadas através do programa estatístico IBM SPSS Statistics Version 21. Os resultados indicaram relação entre a autoestima a dependência de internet, indicando maior prevalência de dependência de internet em estudantes que apresentam autoestima insatisfatória.
