Abstract

The film Virtual Bullying, directed by Charles Binamé, was based on a real case in the U.S. last. The plot is a case of bullying occurred on a social network. The plot refers to the concept of cyberbullying, and demonstrates how this phenom­enon represents a new kind of violence with even greater destructive potential, interpersonal relation­ships. The analysis of the film is presented, initially, from the discussion of the impact of social networks on interpersonal relationship. Then, we present some ideas about power. The methodology is presented in the next section, as an observational study, from the film language. The topic for the analysis aimed to discuss power, violence and ethics in social net­works. Finally, in concluding remarks, pointing to the manifestations of the fundamental relation be­tween violence and power in ethics.
