The article aims to study in the year 2011 changes in the profiles of Brazilian municipal elementary schools classified as efficient in turn financial investment in performance in IDEB. Thus, through data envelopment analysis (DEA), we observed the changing profile of efficient schools as change the weight of the components of IDEB (Prova Brasil and performance indicator) of 50% for each (which is currently used) until a weight of 10% performance indicator and 90% for Prova Brasil. The results point to a shift from efficient schools in the Northeast to the South and Southeast as it values the result of Prova Brasil instead of the performance indicator. It is expected, therefore, that research collaborate to rethink how the IDEB is calculated in addition to providing grants for the improvement of assessment systems.
