Abstract

Since the second half of the 1990s, in the context of changes in the educational system issued by the Federal Law of Education, Teacher Training Institutes came up with modalities of teaching classes in intensive modules. Long hours study weekends where the teacher´s training incorporated new features, were part of it not only in terms of its organization, but also in its conception. To understand the conceptions about teacher training that are built inside the Institutes has the meaning of understanding the deeper matrices from which different educational practices are based. To go further on studies about conceptions of teacher training in various forms of education systems is a necessary and essential pathway for the improvement of professional development policies in the country. Regarding this point, this article presents the results of a qualitative investigation that seeks to analyze different conceptions of teacher training in a modular system of education in the province of Salta, having as reference the case study in the Lerma Valley.
