This article proposes a reflection about the need of thinking education in the contemporary world from a new paradigm, marked by the theory of complexity, the ecology of knowledge and the transdisciplinarity. For both, we search through the theoretical frameworks of Edgar Morin and Boaventura de Sousa Santos, as well as studies about transdisciplinarity, to highlight them with observations of the writers Jorge Luis Borges and Italo Calvino, which can help us to reflect about the position of knowledge in the world today.
