A new thinking theoretical and practical from integral academic formation

This study aims to understand possible connections of academic education and the construction of a new habitus from the non-formal education offered in the social space of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. Wanted to relate, through history and institutional memory an academic Unit, such as extracurricular activities may allow the expansion of the cultural capital of the social agents inserted in the cultural field (academic). It starts with the Bourdieu's theory of reproduction of social hierarchies within a field and show up alternatives to social mobility. The construction of the object of research in development, offers provisional findings from the genesis of concepts such as the linking of institutional memory with the formation of group identity; the existence of opportunities for the creation of a new habitus and cultural capital accumulation through the wide range of extracurricular activities offered at the University.Downloads
