Abstract

This article presents a research whose objective was to analyze the relationship between the expressions of a choreographer and the modeling processes, from the perspective of ethnomodeling. Modeling is the process required for the elaboration of a model, and entomodeling is a practical application of ethnomathematics (art or technique of understanding and explaining the mathematics practiced by different groups), which adds a cultural perspective to the concepts of mathematical modeling. It is a qualitative research that used the mapping in educational research as a method to collect and analyze data, was divided into two stages: apprehension and significance. The seizure, where an interview was conducted through the narrative with the research collaborator (choreographer); And significance, where these data were carefully organized and analyzed. As a result it can be seen that the interviewee uses procedures for their creation similar to the processes of mathematical modeling, and considering the cultural context in which it is inserted, the ethnomathematical perspective in their actions is evidenced, that is, their Convergence for ethnomodeling.
