Abstract

By education, Kant will define care with childhood, with discipline and with education, basic elements for human development. The present study aims to discuss the Kantian work “On Pedagogy”, focusing on philosophical thinking about education. It is understood to be a classic Kant, meaning his thoughts span time and space, philosophically working issues such as education, childhood, infant body. In order to reach the proposed objective, in addition to the review of the cited work, commentators were discussed, in hypertextual character research, in order to enrich the discussion. The results showed the relevance of Kantian thought, evidencing education as an element of “hominization” and “moralization” of the subject, for his unveiling as an art of education and as an art of education. It was concluded by the necessity of the constant reflection that the pedagogical practice requires, which implies to think about childhood, autonomy, moral, reason and human nature. Fundamental to Kantian criticism and philosophy as a whole for the non-naturalization of concepts, as well as the perception that the purpose of education necessarily implies it as philosophy of education.
