This article explores the characteristics of the mind map as a pedagogical tool and demonstrates the use of technology and interactivity to enhance this resource’s use. We developed a prototype of an interactive mind map to demonstrate features that can add value to the tool. Mind maps can be constituted as rich media since they allow incorporating different media types, making it possible to reach students with different profiles and learning needs. In this sense, the work demonstrates applications and advantages of mind maps as a tool for an active methodology, favoring the student’s interaction and his participation in constructing his knowledge, also combining the technological aspect as a way of approximation between school and reality of students.Downloads
