O presente artigo tem por objetivo comentar criticamente o abandono pós-moderno da Totalidade como categoria central de análise dialética da realidade. Seu objeto de estudo é o pensamento ultraliberal e suas articulações com as tendências teóricas desconstrutivistas (Foucault, Derrida, Lyotard etc.), neoiluministas (Habermas) e pragmático-multiculturalistas (Rorthy, Hall, Giroux etc.) que definem e caracterizam o pós-modernismo. O texto analisa a expansão dessas tendências nos países de economia dependente e profundamente marcados pela desigualdade entre as classes sociais. Nesse sentido, a análise procura destacar essa expansão no Brasil, especialmente no meio acadêmico e, nele, na Educação.

The abandonment of totality and the dystopia of diversity
Abstract
This article aims to establish a critical commentary on the postmodern abandonment of Totality as the central category of the dialectical analysis of reality. Its object of study is the ultraliberal thought and its articulations with the tendencies of desconstructive theory (Foucaut, Derrida, Lyotard, etc), new-enlightment (Habermas) and pragmatic-multicuturalists (Rorthy, Hall, Giroux, etc) whose work define and characterize portmodernism. The article also analysis the expansion of these trends in economically dependent countries with social classes deeply marked by inequality. This way, the analysis seeks to emphasize this expansion in Brazil, especially in university and Education as a whole.
