This research focused on studying the constitution of male parents identity having in mind the descriptions of their educational practices applied to their children. We’ve followed Ricoeur’s (1991) propositions to understand the phenomenon of identity constitution. As a qualitative phenomenological based research, the procedure we used were reflexive meetings, proposed by Szymanski (2012), with themes relating to the male parent condition in the education of children. The analysis procedure was based on the focus of Ricoeur’s hermeneutics (1978). Narrating their experiences brought about an active reorganization and self-interpretation of the meanings in the process of identity constitution.Downloads
