Abstract

The Brazilian National Common Core Curriculum is a national document that guides the formulation of the curricula of school networks throughout Brazil. This work aims to highlight, in the Base, the themes related to the natural resource Soil. A content analysis method was used. The areas of Natural Sciences and Human Sciences were analyzed for the Elementary School - Beginning and End Years and, for the High School, the areas of Natural Sciences and its Technologies and Applied Social and Human Sciences. Descending Hierarchical Classification analysis was used using Iramuteq 0.7 alpha 2_2020 statistical software. This analysis technique is used to identify classes of words in documents that have similar characteristics. For the texts to be suitable for this analysis, ≥ 75% of the words must be used. The results show that soil is a multidisciplinary theme. Several themes related to this natural resource from the early years of elementary school to high school. Natural Sciences contribute to the teaching of soils by working with important characteristics of this natural resource. Human Sciences contribute to the development of critical thinking, with issues related to students' daily lives.
