The purpose of this article is to analyze the didactic-pedagogical potentialities in the historical, cultural, sociological, ethnic-racial and educational content present in the Avença de la Placa Plate Project in the city of Macapá-AP. The purpose of this research was to verify its contribution to the process of safeguarding, recognizing, valuing and promoting the Afro-Amharic cultural heritage, as well as the understanding of the role of culture in the school teaching-learning relationship through interdisciplinary projects. the research was qualitative and descriptive in nature, whose data collection was the bibliographical research, the documentary, the questionnaire and the semistructured interview as a form of investigation. The subjects of the research were the members of the Band Plate. Thus, the results obtained in this work confirm that the Plate Band initiative to safeguard the Afro-Amharic cultural heritage through the Avença Project is a way to promote knowledge about local culture in an interdisciplinary perspective, as well as help in the construction of identity culture of the people of Amapá in general.
