Considering that sexuality is an inseparable dimension of human nature, working on the theme from the prism of diversity becomes essential for the construction of a citizen education, based on Human Rights. Thus, the present work seeks to describe how the theme is addressed in Brazilian education, identifying weaknesses and indicating points for improvement. For its realization, we proceeded with the search in the theoretical framework, followed by the survey of publications between 2010 and 2019, in the SciELO database, using as subject descriptors the words Education and Sexuality. Twenty-eight (28) articles were selected that met the inclusion criteria and presented relevance to the intended approach. Among the results obtained, it was found that teachers deal with the subject according to personal conceptions; public policies aimed at the inclusion of the subject as school content encounter moral or religious barriers and little is effective in practice; teacher training on the subject is too incipient; interventions assume a hygienic character and reinforce the heteronormative construction, and there are few available evaluations, making it difficult to consistent basis for corrective actions.
