Abstract

This article contemplates the ten years of the history of the La Salle Superior Institute in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and,  celebrating this anniversary, the elevation of its academic and social impact to the level of a University center. Besides the approval of La Salle as a University Center, the year 2012 has also brought the historic mark of the La Salle Brazil-Chile Province consolidation, representing their management and educational union. Also during this year, another historic event takes place with the formulation of the Educational Lassalian Latin-American Project, which has been set in 2012 with a proposal of uniting these countries in their pedagogical and social principles, strengthening their fundamentals and the Mission of their schools and their Superior Institutes. In sum, this article describes the historical memory composed by events such as the implementation of the Courses and the Research and Practice Centers, the Congresses, the implementation of the Knowledge & Diversity Journal and the construction of the Educational and Human Promotion Center, which offers preschool education, food, uniform and school supplies to more than one hundred low-income families.
